DESCRIPTION
Two of the Gospels in the Bible record an event in which Jesus approached a fig tree because he was hungry and had hope of finding something to eat. The fact that it was in leaf was a good indicator that it had already begun to produce fruit. Finding none, he cursed the tree which quickly began to wither. When his disciples later questioned him about how this happened, he responded that if they had faith and did not doubt they could say to a mountain, “Be thrown into the sea” and it would be done.
